Goldberry

She dances over the lilies
With feathery light steps
As she runs to greet me
With her arms out stretched
She’s a vision of new spring
With rays of sunlight in her hair
But with eyes as blue as springs

But it was not her beauty
That smote my heart
But her song that touched my soul
That beckoned me to rest
To sleep and fear no nightly noise
For in her home, none are oppressed

She sings to the air, the river’s song
As she dances in the rain
Bringing life to earth once again.
Her song stirs the hearts of men
As she calls upon the rain
Beckoning in a voice they know
Welcoming them to her home.
